The Academy meets the
FAA‘s 40-hour requirement and is directed toward ARFF personnel
who work directly at airports under FAR Part 139. The 2005
ARFF Academy time frame will be available at a later date.
Classroom training will be conducted at the City of Lubbock’s
new modern Fire Training Practical training will be conducted at Lubbock International Airport’s new Live-Fire Training Facility. It features exterior and interior aircraft mock-ups, allowing instructors to simulate any aircraft fire-fighting scenario. Both mock-ups utilize fossil fuel, creating the most realistic training conditions possible. To view a video on our Live-Fire Training Facility please check out our ARFF Photo Gallery Site. Maximum emphasis will be placed on safety, and NFPA 1403 will be adhered to at all times. Students may bring bring their own SCBA equipment and protective clothing. However, SCBA rental will be available. A catered lunch will be provided on each day of training. Breakfast and dinner will be the responsibility of each attendee of the Academy. There are several restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel and can be reached by the complimentary hotel shuttle. LBB will be hosting a hospitality night on Sunday. For additional questions please contact Kelly Morman at: (806) 767-3021
